I frequently saw Stephanie training at Bancroft Boxing but we didn't really know each other. When quarantine started, I was so bummed that I couldn't go to my gym so I started doing some workouts at home with just a 35 lb sandbag and 20 lb dumbells but it was tough to stay motivated. I happened to see a post from Stephanie on FB in early May about a zoom class she was teaching and reached out to her not knowing what to expect. I had really disliked the idea of zoom fitness classes for some reason but decided to try it out. I'm so glad I did! Her workouts are tough AF and I train with her 5-6 days a week now between zoom and personal training.

An added bonus is that I managed to get my wife to train with me and now our 2 kids ages 9 and 12 are doing her Sunday Family Fitness class and my 12-year-old son is now boxing with us as well.

Her classes are challenging, I always burn 200-300 calories and she is so nice, funny, and engaging (while kicking my A$$).

I even canceled my gym membership (if they ever re-open) because I plan on sticking with Steph and so should you ;)

A class for people at all levels


I am a 60 year old, overweight woman who is very self conscious when I exercise.  In Your Corner Fitness is perfect for me.

 

Stephanie is very welcoming, supportive and inspirational.  She made me feel comfortable from the first session.  People who join the class range from my fitness level to young, super fitness lovers. She encourages everyone to do the exercises at their own ability level while pushing ourselves to build strength.

 

On days I am confident I leave my video camera on. On days that I struggle with confidence, I turn my video off.  I love being part of a live class from the convenience of my own home.  

 

Having the structure of joining a live class on a set day and time motivates me and keeps me on track.  And best of all, I am seeing results.  I am stronger.  I have more energy.  I am more confident.

In Your Corner Fitness has not only helped me transform my life physically but also mentally and spiritually.

 

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and lupus. With these diagnoses came extreme exhaustion and weight gain. Over the last few years I have gained  20 plus pounds and felt bad about myself. With the weight gain and diagnosis came depression from being too tired and out of shape to enjoy things I once loved such as swimming , walking , or even just enjoying going to a friend's house to hang out, I would rather be sleeping.  I did not have energy to go to gym and when I was at the gym did not know what to really do. Sick of being sick and tired and with covid19 making depression worse, In Your Corner Fitness came into my life.

 

Stephanie who is a friend of mine stated she was offering boxing and strength training classes that could be done at home with no equipment and were only 25 to 40 min long from warm up to cool down. She also stated you can do these exercises no matter what shape you are in or exercise and boxing experience you had.  I gave the classes a try and it was the best decision I ever made.

 

The classes are fun and you can work out at your own intensity. Then once class is over you are right there at home. Through the classes Steph coaches you and helps with form and helps you succeed. I even signed up for 1 on 1 sessions. Since March I have lost 16 pounds but gained my life back. I am not nearly as tired. I go for walks without being tired or uncomfortable and I hang out with friends again.

 

I also do the nutrition group In Your Corner Fitness has to offer. You state your goals for the week and have a  group to support you. Stephanie teaches about food as energy and teaches you that you can eat your favorite  food and still loose weight. I am so thankful for In Your Corner Fitness, it has given me energy, lifted my spirits, given me confidence, and made me  enjoy life again.

Meeting Stephanie was a game changer for me.  I struggled to be motivated and find time to be consistent with working out. When I found Stephanie, I found boxing and I found my passion. I needed someone to hold me accountable and wouldn’t give up on me when I was self-sabotaging my workouts with excuses and not showing up or giving it my all.

​

Stephanie created workouts that challenged me while helping me build confidence and strength I desperately needed after having knee surgeries. Today my knees are pain free during strength and boxing workouts!! Stephanie’s enthusiasm and energy for fitness, particularly boxing, makes the workouts fun and while working out from home on zoom, I feel like she is right there with me encouraging and challenging me to bring it every time.  I personally love the one-on-one personal training sessions.  These sessions have helped me feel comfortable with working out again because Stephanie is very patient and non-judgmental while helping me become the best version of myself and not allowing me to quit.

 

These past four months have changed my life at a time when life as we knew has changed so drastically.  In Your Corner has been with me every step of the way to offer stability and an outlet while getting healthy.  Thank you, Stephanie, for always being in my corner!!

As a “traditional” part-time member of the Air National Guard who has a full time civilian job, it can be difficult to maintain our fitness standards and it’s easy to get lazy.  Steph’s Zoom class schedule and workout variety, along with a once per week personal session, helped immensely.

 

As of today, I not only easily passed my Physical Fitness Test, I achieved the best composite score of my career, including Basic Training!

 

Since starting this March, my girlfriend Donna and I have made great progress with our fitness and maintaining a healthier lifestyle. Steph played a huge role in that by being “In Our Corner”!
